What is Perhydrol?
VOLUME STRENGTH:
The strength of H2O2 is expressed in terms of volume strength.
It is defined as Volume of Oxygen evolved (measured at STP) when 1 lit of given given H2O2 decomposed.
e.g.,10 vol, 20 vol,30 vol,
10 vol H2O2 means 1 Lit H2O2 gives 10 Lit of O2 at
STP.
*PERHYDROL*
It is special commercial name give to solution of H2O2 whose strength is 30 per cent w/v or 100 vol.
SHORTCUTS to CONVERT VOLUME STRENGTH to Mass/Volume percentage:
10 vol H2O2=3.036% w/v
Or
11.2 vol H2O2 = 3.4% w/v
SHORTCUTS to CONVERT VOLUME STRENGTH to NORMALITY :
10 vol H2O2= 1.786 N
Or
11.2 vol H2O2 = 2N
SHORTCUTS to CONVERT VOLUME STRENGTH to MOLARITY :
10 vol H2O2 = 0.893M
(or)
11.2 vol H2O2 = 1 M
